Matcha Chasen
Matcha Green Tea is first prepared by being forced through a sieve in order to break up clumps. These sieves are normally stainless steel. A special wooden spatula is used to press the matcha powder through the sieve. Then, a small amount of matcha is placed into a bowl or tea cup, traditionally with a bamboo spoon called a chashaku. Then, a desired amount of water is added, and the tea is whisked with a chasen.
If you need to buy a chasen, there are many available for auction at low prices.
